Our world’s best clam chowder was featured on the popular Japanese program “Ikisugi-san ni Tsuitetta”.

*The meaning of “ikisugi” is “overdoing it”.

We, Ramen 963, are a ramen shop, but we won the world’s best clam chowder.

“963” has many Ikisugi regular customers. This time, one of the 963 menu items was recommended by Kaori Otsuka of the local restaurant owner “Plus Naturi”.

A question from Kaori. “What did “963” win the world’s best award for?”

“Many locals know the answer, but… Let’s think about it while eating 963 ramen first.”

“The correct answer is the clam chowder that won the world’s best award. Even though” 963” is a ramen shop.

” 963” clam chowder uses the same shellfish as in the US, but they are from Funabashi.

The techniques used to make ramen are used to make clam chowder.

The clam chowder served at the restaurant is topped with a special truffle whipped cream.

And we participated in the Japan Clam Chowder Championship held in 2019-2020, and won for two consecutive years.

After winning first place in Japan, we also participated in the US national championships held in Seattle, USA, where the original clam chowder originated, and won there as well.

We are honored to have become No.1 in the world.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world after that gave a major impact on 963’s management as well.

There were periods when we were unable to open, and ramen sales fell by 90%.

But during those tough times, we developed clam chowder for sale.　We increased sales by selling it as frozen food at convenience stores and on the Internet, and somehow managed to get through the difficult time.
